We like our breakfasts; but occasionally we like to kick back, relax and just sip away on a nice cup of Joe.  After hearing a lot of good buzz we decided to head to one of Brighton's most popular java locations to see how it shaped up.

Mr NoEggs:

If you are someone who likes to wake up with a quality cup of coffee, then look no further than a little cafe found on the far side of Brighton's Kemptown area.  Knowledgeable staff, specially chosen coffee & tea blends and designer cups & pots to serve them in, this is a coffee shop for people who care about the product more than the convenience of the chain brands.  Pastries and toasted bagels are also available for a nibble, all looking as good as the quality of the drinks.

We dithered at the counter for quite a while but the staff remained patient and helpful, the atmosphere of the place is laid back and reminiscent of many coffee shops I've visited on the West coast of the United States.  The ratio of Apple devices to customers was also very high, clearly a popular place to spend the morning catching catching up on emails or pretending to write the next best-seller while indulging in some of the finer things in life.

Voted Brighton's #1 cafe in the 2010 Brighton & Hove Foodie awards, Ground has quickly become a very popular way for Brightonian's to start their day. If you savour the experience of every drink and enjoy having them in a friendly and chic environment, it's well worth the short walk up from the city.

On the 12th September 2011, Ground opened a new cafe at 84 Church Road in Hove. More news and a mini review soon

We visited Grounds new location in Hove on Friday 7th October. At 10am there were very few tables left, but we managed to squeeze in and enjoyed a great coffee and pot of Earl Grey. I will include the photos on the review. As great addition to the area. Independent coffee shops now out number the chain ones!
